According to Iran s official news agency IRNA, President Pezeshkian paid tribute to those who lost their lives during the conflict and stated that the Israeli government had miscalculated by assuming that targeting senior military leaders and strategic facilities would weaken the Iranian nation and destabilize the country.
He said that the resistance of the Iranian people, the leadership of the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and the preparedness of the armed forces thwarted Israel’s objectives and ultimately forced it to accept a ceasefire.

The Iranian president added that the war demonstrated how the Iranian nation remained united despite external pressure and military attacks, standing together to defend its national interests.
The conflict began on June 13 last year when Israel launched a surprise attack on Iran, resulting in the deaths of senior military commanders, nuclear scientists, politicians, and civilians.
The United States later joined the conflict, carrying out strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. The war came to an end on June 24 following the announcement of a ceasefire.
