According to reports, the strikes targeted key locations including Kandahar Airport and other military installations in Kandahar. The operations were reportedly aimed at destroying militant command centres and infrastructure believed to be used for planning attacks.
Pakistani forces also targeted the Brigade Headquarters in the Pul-e-Charkhi area of Kabul. Loud explosions were reported in the area, causing panic among residents.
Media reports from Afghanistan claim that the Pakistan Air Force carried out bombing strikes on alleged terrorist training centres located in Kabul, Khost, and Kandahar.
The reports further allege that the Taliban administration had been sheltering commanders and fighters belonging to banned militant organisations including Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Al-Qaeda, Islamic State, Balochistan Liberation Army and the Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group.
Pakistani strikes reportedly hit the 205th Al-Badr Corps headquarters in Kandahar, which serves as a major command centre of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
According to posts circulating on social media platform X, several Taliban officials were reportedly wounded in the attack. Reports claimed that Corps Commander Mehrullah Hamad, Chief of Staff Hizbullah Afghan and Deputy Commander Wali Jan Hamza were seriously injured and shifted to hospitals in Kandahar for treatment.
Following the strikes, explosions were also heard near Kandahar Airport and nearby military facilities, with witnesses reporting smoke rising from the affected areas while security forces sealed off surrounding locations.
Heavy explosions were also reported in Kabul after Pakistani forces allegedly targeted the Pul-e-Charkhi Brigade Headquarters.
However, there has been no official confirmation regarding casualties or property damage so far. Reports suggest that the strikes were carried out amid the ongoing regional security situation, while further details are still awaited.
