The foreign ministry of South Africa termed the move as regrettable and once again denied Trump his accusations that the whites of Afrikaner origin are victims of racial discrimination in the Black dominated country.

The fact that G20 will be hosted in South Africa is an utter disgrace, Trump wrote in Truth Social. The Afrikaners (the descendants of the Dutch settlers, as well as the French and German immigrants) are killed and slaughtered, their land and farms have been illegally seized.

No official of the U.S. Government will come until these abuses of Human Rights are stopped. I am looking forward to hosting the 2026 G20 in Miami, Florida! he said.

A source close to the case indicated that the Vice President JD Vance, who was to go to the G20 leaders summit in Johannesburg on November 2223, would no longer be visiting.

Trump has consistently condemned South Africa domestic and foreign policies including its land reform policies to its case at the International Court of Justice accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza.

Trump has also announced the lowest U.S. refugee admission number in the country last month claiming that white Afrikaners seeking resettlement will be given a priority.

The foreign ministry of South Africa said it had noted the unfortunate remarks by Trump and once again that the government has always maintained the same stand against the allegations of racial persecution of Afrikaners.

The accusation that this community is persecuted cannot be supported by fact, according to the ministry, and that South Africa has had its share of racial inequality that allows it to drive the world together via the G20.

It further added that our country is in a unique position to be a leader in the G20 on a future based on true solidarity, hoping that the summit would be successful.

In January, the Secretary of State Marco Rubio also missed a meeting of foreign ministers of the G20 held in South Africa. The country has the presidency of G20 in the period between December 2024 and November 2025 and the presidency would be transferred to the United States thereafter.
