According to Israeli Army Radio, U.S. forces in the region have surged to their highest numbers since last June, following earlier actions linked to Iran. Reports indicate that the U.S. Navy now has more than 800 Tomahawk cruise missiles ready for immediate use, signaling what analysts call a clear and calculated show of force.
This development came during the visit of U.S. Central Command chief General Brad Cooper to Tel Aviv, a trip that has drawn close attention across the region.
Israeli media, citing defense officials, say the deployment is being viewed as a strong military warning aimed at increasing pressure on Iran and, potentially, forcing change within its leadership. However, officials also noted that despite constant communication between Washington and Tel Aviv, there is no active operational coordination at this stage. The final decision, they say, rests solely with President Donald Trump, leaving the situation tense and uncertain.
Iran has responded swiftly. A senior Iranian official told Reuters that the country is on high alert and fully prepared for the worst-case scenario. The official warned that any attack would be treated as an all out war, met with what he described as an unprecedented military response.
Adding to the growing concern, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Israel appears to be searching for an opportunity to strike Iran, a move he warned could push the region deeper into instability.
Meanwhile, the U.S. State Department emphasized that any military action against Iran would require direct authorization from President Trump. Deputy spokesperson Manion Houston said the current U.S. strategy focuses on supporting the Iranian people, pointing to new sanctions on Iranian officials and a 25 percent tariff on countries trading with Iran.
Houston added that President Trump is closely watching the situation inside Iran, including ongoing protests and the worsening conditions faced by ordinary citizens.
U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee also hinted that Washington could consider military options if Iran continues issuing death sentences against protesters.
Fresh reports have further revealed the sheer scale of the U.S. military footprint in the region. According to the Israeli website JFeed, the United States has deployed a heavily fortified ‘iron clad’ force designed to deter escalation and maintain strategic dominance.
Diplomatic reporter Amichai Stein claimed that a total of 812 Tomahawk missiles are currently available for rapid deployment, spread across independent naval assets and the Lincoln Strike Group a level of readiness rarely seen in recent years.
As diplomacy hangs in the balance, the Middle East once again finds itself standing at a crossroads, where one decision could reshape the region’s future.
