In a statement posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the U.S. Secretary of State said that the United States supports the courageous people of Iran.
It is worth noting that protests against rising inflation and economic hardships in Iran have entered their second week, while authorities have imposed restrictions on internet services to limit public communication.
Meanwhile, according to an Iranian human rights organization, at least 62 people have been killed since the protests began on December 28.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump issued a strong warning to Iran’s leadership on Friday, saying, “If you start shooting, we will start shooting too.”
In another statement, President Trump said that if Iranian security forces harm protesters, the United States will respond forcefully. He clarified that this does not mean a military presence, but rather a response with full intensity. “We do not want this to happen, but we are prepared,” he said.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio once again emphasized that Washington stands with the people of Iran and supports their legitimate demands.
