Under the initiative, educated people across the province have been encouraged to teach others and help bring out of school children into the formal education system.
The initiative was introduced by the Elementary and Secondary Education Department (E&SED) through the joint efforts of Education Minister Arshad Ayub Khan, Secretary E&SED Muhammad Khalid, Director E&SED Jaffar Mansoor Abbasi and Elementary and Secondary Education Foundation (ESEF) Managing Director Qaiser Alam.
Education Minister Arshad Ayub Khan said the policy reflects collective responsibility under Article 25 A of the Constitution and aims to transform literacy from a government objective into a community-driven mission.
He said the initiative would also support efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4 and urged educated citizens across the province to participate by teaching others.
Secretary E&SED Muhammad Khalid described the policy as a community-driven initiative aimed at ensuring that every child has access to education and improving overall educational outcomes.
He said mobilising individuals to teach others would expand access to education, promote equity and strengthen government efforts to improve literacy and other education indicators.
The Education Department has appealed to communities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to actively participate in the initiative and contribute to achieving the province’s literacy and education targets.
