According to the state-run news agency APP, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar visited Jamia Ashrafia Lahore, where they offered condolences and performed Fateha on the demise of Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
While speaking to the media, Mohsin Naqvi said that enforcing the law is the responsibility of the state. He added that there is experience in dealing with protests, and appropriate action will be taken if such a situation arises. He further stated that those responsible for negotiations should carry out their role.
The Interior Minister also said that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should be asked what measures he took to ensure the protection of his officers, and his performance should be reviewed.
On this occasion, Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar said that Pakistan’s economy is moving towards improvement. Criticizing the Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ain Pakistan, he remarked that it is nothing more than a “tonga ride,” and he did not wish to say anything further.

Attaullah Tarar said that Pakistan’s economy is in safe hands, macroeconomic indicators are improving, and international financial institutions acknowledge the strength of Pakistan’s economy. He paid tribute to the religious services of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, stating that his contributions will always be remembered and that he introduced a modern system for the welfare and supervision of students at Jamia Ashrafia.
He further said that Pakistan has moved away from the risk of default, the stock market is setting new records, and in December alone, overseas Pakistanis sent remittances worth USD 3.6 billion, reflecting a 17% increase compared to last year and an 11% increase compared to the previous month. He added that foreign exchange reserves have increased and inflation has significantly declined.
He concluded by saying that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and due to the efforts of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, effective teamwork has put the economy on a path toward stability, and a positive economic environment now prevails in the country.
