According to details, a high-level meeting of senior officials was held under the chairmanship of Director General Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting reviewed in detail the steps being taken to improve the delivery of passport services and the progress of ongoing development initiatives.
The meeting discussed various important matters, including the timely issuance of passports and improvements in the processing of applications. The system for applying for new passports at NADRA centres was also reviewed.
The proposal to link and integrate passport facilities with the Pak ID mobile app was also considered during the meeting. The move is aimed at providing citizens with easier and faster access to passport-related services.
Various measures to make the passport delivery system more efficient and faster were also reviewed.
DG Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed the relevant officials to resolve operational issues faced by citizens on a priority basis.
He also directed officials to ensure transparency at all stages, saying that citizens would be provided with more effective, faster and easier services through the promotion of digital facilities, simplification of procedures and continuous innovation and improvement in passport services.
The meeting also reviewed various aspects of further digitising passport services and making the entire process, from application to passport collection, easier and more efficient.
