In an article published by FPIF, the pact was described as a reflection of the growing role of regional powers in a rapidly changing Middle East.

The article said US President Donald Trump’s support for the agreement was also a sign of Pakistan’s continued diplomatic weight in Washington.

Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye have expressed their commitment to playing a constructive role in regional security and promoting lasting peace, according to the publication.

The report rejected the idea that the Makkah pact should be viewed simply as an anti-Iran alliance, arguing that its significance should instead be understood in the wider context of shifting regional dynamics.

It said growing strategic cooperation between India and Israel further highlighted the importance of the Makkah agreement for Pakistan, particularly in terms of regional security and strategic balance.

The pact also leaves the door open for other regional countries to join, according to FPIF.

The publication said the agreement’s real strength lies not in creating a rigid military bloc but in its inclusive and flexible character, which could allow it to adapt to changing regional circumstances.

For Pakistan, the agreement could therefore provide greater strategic reach while strengthening its diplomatic role in the Middle East and beyond.
