Kamran Ghulam not being considered for England tour, says Aqib Javed

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director High Performance and selection committee member Aqib Javed has dismissed reports that middle-order batter Kamran Ghulam is being sent to England to join the national Test squad. Pakistan are currently in England for a three-match Test series under the leadership of Babar Azam. The 17-member squad also includes former Test captain Shan Masood, who missed the Port of Spain Test due to a finger fracture, while Test batter Saud Shakeel is also part of the squad.

Speaking to media, Aqib Javed said there was no truth in reports regarding Kamran Ghulam's possible departure for England. He clarified that no such proposal was currently under consideration.

The 30-year-old right-handed batter from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has represented Pakistan in six Tests and 11 ODIs.

Kamran Ghulam made his Test debut against England in Multan in October 2024. Batting at number four in his first Test innings, he scored an impressive 118 runs off 224 balls.

Ghulam is currently part of the Pakistan Gold squad for the four-team One-Day Cup, scheduled to be played in Multan from August 11 to 18. The team is being captained by Pakistan's ODI captain Shaheen Shah Afridi.

His inclusion in the domestic tournament means there is currently no indication that he will leave the country to join the Test squad in England.
