The agreement was reached during a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Malaysian Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail in Islamabad, followed by delegation-level talks involving senior officials from both countries.

The two sides reviewed bilateral relations and discussed ways to enhance cooperation in internal security and law enforcement.

They agreed that intelligence-sharing would be crucial to countering terrorism, drug trafficking, human smuggling and other security threats. Measures to strengthen joint efforts against illegal immigration and cybercrime were also discussed.

Pakistan and Malaysia further agreed to enhance cooperation between the National Police Academy and the Royal Malaysian Police College, including training programmes and the exchange of law enforcement expertise.

Cooperation in the coast guard sector was also discussed, with both sides agreeing to establish a joint working group to strengthen security cooperation in coast guard operations and related areas.

The meeting also focused on tourism and visa facilitation. Naqvi expressed hope that increased employment quotas would enable more Pakistanis to seek jobs in Malaysia through legal channels.

Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across security, law enforcement, tourism and other areas.
